The Pirates have traded Freddy Sanchez to the Giants for Double-A pitcher Tim Alderson. Alderson, a first round draft pick in 2007, is 20-years-old and performing well in Double-A. He is a very good prospect that projects as a top of the rotation starter. The Pirates focused on quality as opposed to quantity in this deal, and received a nice return for Freddy. A very impressive day for Neal Huntington.
