A few updates regarding the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2010 40-Man roster/payroll projection:
-According to Dejan Kovacevic, Bobby Crosby will make $1 M guaranteed in 2010, with $500 K in performance bonuses based on plate appearances. I wonder if we’ll have another plate appearances controversy in the blogs and forums like we saw with Freddy Sanchez last year every time he was benched? Crosby’s deal will be announced tomorrow morning.
-Crosby will take up one of the two spots on the 40-man roster, leaving just one spot for a Rule 5 pick tomorrow morning.
-Jennifer Langosch tweets that the Pirates plan on tendering an offer to their three arbitration eligible players on Friday. Those players are Ronny Cedeno, Matt Capps, and Zack Duke.
The 40-man roster/payroll projection has been updated with the signing of Crosby. The Future Payroll Commitments chart and the projected 25-man roster have also been updated.
