UPDATE 9:32 PM: According to Dejan Kovacevic, Duke will make $4.3 M in 2010. The 2010 40-man roster/payroll page has been updated. It’s not a good estimate, as it accounts for Brendan Donnelly, Ryan Church, and Brandon Jones. Since we don’t know which player of Donnelly and Church isn’t official yet, I didn’t want to remove one or the other. Once a move is made to clear space, the 2010 payroll projection will be more accurate.

The Pittsburgh Pirates and left handed starter Zach Duke have agreed to a contract, according to Dejan Kovacevic. By agreeing to a deal, the two sides avoid the arbitration process, which had a noon deadline today for the sides to submit their arbitration numbers.
Kovacevic reports that the contract is believed to be a one year deal. No financial terms have been released yet. I estimated that Duke would be worth between $4 and $4.25 M in my post last night on the subject of Zach Duke’s worth. Once the contract is known I will update this post, and the 2010 40-Man roster/payroll page.
