Pirates make seven more cuts

The Pittsburgh Pirates made seven more cuts this morning, highlighted by Brad Lincoln being assigned to AAA.  As I reported yesterday, Tony Sanchez was also in this batch of cuts.  Donald Veal, Bryan Morris, Virgil Vasquez, Jeff Sues, and Justin Thomas round out the list.  The assignments are as follows:

-Lincoln and Veal to AAA (both will join the AAA rotation)
-Sanchez and Morris to minor league camp (both will start the season in high-A Bradenton)
-Vasquez, Sues, and Thomas to minor league camp (all three will compete for spots on the AAA roster)

The Spring Training tracker is updated with this recent wave of cuts.  There are now 53 players remaining in camp, with my estimates showing 35 players competing for seven open spots on the 25-man roster.  You can see my projections of the 25-man roster on the 25-man roster projection page.
