Pirates vs Manatees

Sure, they may be the State College of Florida now, but we all know that today’s game is a revenge matchup against the Hated Manatees, who upset the Pirates a year ago in their annual charity game.  Today’s lineup and pitching rotation, thanks to Rob Biertempfel via the Trib and Twitter:

Pitching one inning each: Bryan Morris, Donald Veal, Ronald Uviedo, Justin Thomas, Ramon Aguero, Jeff Sues and Anthony Claggett.

Lineup: Gorkys Hernandez (8), John Raynor (7), Jose Tabata (9) Pedro Alvarez (5) Steve Pearce (3) Brandon Moss (DH) Erik Kratz (2) Argenis Diaz (6) Doug Bernier (4).

Not exactly the lineup that we’ll see carrying the Pirates to their first winning season in 18 years, but who can complain?  Baseball is here, and optimism is in the air.  First step: beat the Manatees.  Second step: winning season.
