UPDATE 3:57 PM: Moss has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to AAA. No word on whether he will still be traded. You’d think that his trade value would be zero because no one claimed him, but that might just mean that no one wanted to guarantee him a roster spot. His value goes up a bit now that any potential trading team could just stash him in AAA.
I’d rather keep Moss in Indy at this point and hope he gets the offense figured out. I didn’t expect him to clear waivers, and there’s no sense in trading him now, especially when the outfield depth isn’t very strong at the AAA level.

According to Rob Biertempfel, the Pittsburgh Pirates will trade Brandon Moss this afternoon, with the return likely being a prospect. I’d be surprised if it’s anything more than a relief pitching prospect. I’ll update this post when the trade is made.
