The Pirates designated Hayden Penn for assignment today to make room for Joel Hanrahan. As expected, Daniel McCutchen was also sent to Triple-A Indianapolis. Brian Burres, making an emergency start tonight for Ross Ohlendorf, will temporarily replace McCutchen on the roster.
