Daniel Moskos and Alex Presley are heading to Indianapolis, according to this tweet from Moskos, with the move being confirmed by Jennifer Langosch:
Headed to Indy! Looking forward to a the new challenge that’s ahead of me. Caravanning with alex Presley
Two good promotions for the Pirates, who just cleared two spots on the Indianapolis roster today with the promotions of Steven Jackson and Justin Thomas to the majors. I speculated about a Moskos promotion earlier today when Tony Watson picked up the save in Altoona this afternoon. Moskos has been excellent in his move back to the bullpen this year, putting up a 1.45 ERA in 31 innings, with a 30:9 K/BB ratio.
Presley has been a big surprise this year, hitting for a .343/.394/.529 line in 242 at-bats in his jump to Altoona. This is a surprise, as Presley combined for a .257/.313/.379 line in 704 at-bats over two seasons in high-A. Presley did put up a .293/.348/.436 line in 2007 in low-A, so hopefully his success this year means he’s gotten back to whatever worked for him that year.
This almost certainly means someone will be moving from Bradenton to Altoona, and maybe even two players. Altoona is now down to 22 players on their roster. My preference would be some pitchers, specifically Jeff Locke and Nathan Adcock, who are both looking good this year, and should be ready to move to the next level.
