Some minor moves this afternoon…
-Eliecer Navarro has been promoted from State College to West Virginia. The left hander pitched 8.2 innings with State College this year, putting up a 1.04 ERA, and an 11:1 K/BB ratio. Navarro, 22, spent the 2009 season in the Gulf Coast League, putting up a 3.77 ERA in 31 innings, with a 6.7 K/9 and a 1.7 BB/9 ratio.
-Jason Townsend and Casey Sadler have officially been added to the State College Spikes roster. It was mentioned in the comments today that both players were in uniform at yesterday’s State College game.
-Matt Curry, who signed yesterday, should be with the Spikes by the weekend.
I’ll keep this updated through the end of the day with any more moves. I’ll also post any moves on the Twitter feed.
UPDATE 3:56 PM: Duke Welker has been promoted from West Virginia to Bradenton. Welker has a 3.63 ERA in 22.1 innings in relief this year, with a 10.1 K/9, but an atrocious 9.7 BB/9 ratio. Welker has touched the upper 90s this year in his full time move to the bullpen, but he needs to get his control fixed in order to make it as a legit bullpen prospect.
