I’m trying to think if I can shirk my responsibilities this weekend and put something together. It isn’t looking good…

IIRC the Pirates have more than showed better than expected results in those contests. Maybe it’s my flawed memory (highly likely!) or my very low expectations vs. those well regarded guys that we may have (even slightly) exceeded.
Any way you look at the ’12 offense, it’s pitiful. With such a thin bench, I don’t see wasting a PH on a pitcher when the object is a sacrifice bunt. At one time, Hurdle must have put down a successful bunt on a squeeze play and he remembers it as the most exciting play ever. The longer this season goes, the less impressive he gets to me.

ERA – 3.87
BB/9 – 3.0
K/9 – 7.3
K/BB – 2.45
WHIP – 1.314

Not a huge difference – moving the ERA from 3.80 to 3.87.
