The popular prediction today has the Pittsburgh Pirates taking Jameson Taillon with their first overall pick, number two in the 2010 draft. Mock drafts today by Keith Law of ESPN, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com, Jim Callis of Baseball America, Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus, Frankie Piliere of AOL Fanhouse, and Andy Seiler of MLB Bonus Baby all have Taillon as the Pirates’ pick. Buster Olney also reported today that the Pirates were targeting Taillon.
