Pirates sign Casey Sadler and Cliff Archibald

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed two more draft picks, 25th round pick Casey Sadler, and 36th round pick Cliff Archibald, according to Jennifer Langosch.  Langosch also confirms the signing of 31st round pick Jason Townsend, who was reported signed over the weekend.

Sadler, a right handed pitcher out of Western Oklahoma State, was rated the 23rd best prospect in the 2010 draft out of Oklahoma by Baseball America.  The 6′ 4″, 200 pound right hander put up a 4.01 ERA in 74 innings in 2010, with an 81:19 K/BB ratio.  Sadler throws between 88-93 MPH, and uses a mix of four pitches.

Archibald, a right handed pitcher from McLennan Community College, was a reliever in 2010, with a 3.00 ERA in 27 innings, and a 27:12 K/BB ratio.  Archibald, who is 6′ 1″, 190 pounds, has an 87 MPH fastball.

The 2010 draft pick signing tracker has been updated with the moves.  The Pirates have now signed 14 players.
