Pirates sign Bryton Trepagnier

I mentioned this earlier today, but it’s now been confirmed: the Pittsburgh Pirates have signed 41st round draft pick Bryton Trepagnier.  Trepagnier, a right handed pitcher, came out of the prep ranks, pitching for East St. John high school.  He had a commitment to Bossier Parish Community College after being the staff ace at East St. John.

Trepagnier has a projectable frame, at 6′ 5″, 180 pounds.  He already can hit 91 MPH, and with his frame there’s a chance he could add to that velocity in the future.  Trepagnier will most likely start out his career in the Gulf Coast League.

The draft pick signing tracker is updated.  The Pirates have now signed 17 picks from the 2010 draft.
