Updates on Nick Kingham and Chris Kirsch

Two updates from the 2010 draft class…

-Baseball Beginnings did an interview with Nick Kingham, the fourth round pick for the Pittsburgh Pirates this year.  In response to whether he will fit with the Pirates, Kingham said “I don’t know yet. I think I have a pretty good set-up in either case”, obviously referring to his commitment to Oregon as the other case.

-One player that does look to be close to signing is 13th round pick Chris Kirsch.  Kirsch is close to a deal, according to his adviser Jeff Randazzo.  Kirsch is a left handed prep pitcher who doesn’t have a college commitment, although his adviser mentioned he has some JuCo teams to fall back on.  Kirsch is 6′ 3″, 185 pounds, and can touch 90 MPH with his fastball.  He also has a 10-4 curve, which could be a potential out pitch down the road.
