There’s been a lot of talk about Drew Maggi being close to signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates. I posted about this on Saturday after Keith Law tweeted that Maggi and the Pirates were close to a deal that would pay Maggi $460 K. Today I was told that Maggi has agreed to a deal with the Pirates.
I want to stress that this hasn’t been confirmed through a second source. With every agreement or signing I’ve reported, including the news today on Jared Lakind, I have confirmed the story with at least two sources. The reason I’m reporting this without the second source is due to all of the talk about Maggi. I’m still working to confirm the information I’ve received, and will update this post when I get that confirmation.

Thanks for the precise update. This would be a great pickup and add some nice middle infield depth to the org.

What is going on with Drew Maggi? I know that the pirates signed him, he has the heart of a bull – cannot teach that and looks to me that the mlb needs it. Can’t wait to see him bring this drive and love of the game and winning to the pirates.
