Pirates sign Jameson Taillon

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed first round pick Jameson Taillon, according to his father, via Chuck Finder.  No details yet, but they’re sure to come.  The slot price for Taillon is $3.25 M, although he is likely to see $5-6 M, and maybe more.  There was a report that his bonus was expected to be $6.5 M.  There has also been talk of a possible major league deal.  I’ll keep this post updated as more information becomes available.

The draft pick signing tracker has been updated, and will be updated again when the bonus information becomes available.  Now that the Pirates have signed Taillon and Allie, they can hopefully focus on later round picks with three hours remaining in the signing period.

The commitment to high-end talent continues. Its been a wonderful draft. Hursh and Carey would be nice bonuses at this point. Good job Neal and the front office!
