Arizona Fall League Recap: 10/13

Published:

Not much action for the Pirates prospects in the Arizona Fall League today, as Andrew Lambo was the only player to receive playing time.  Here is how he did, along with a note about Tony Sanchez:

-Lambo followed up his 2-for-5 performance in game one by going 0-for-4 in the second game of the season, leaving three runners on base.  Lambo started in right field, and batted fourth this time.

-Tony Sanchez is blogging about his experiences in the Arizona Fall League this year.  Sanchez was hit in the face with a fastball this season, knocking him out for the season in late-June.  In his first post he notes that the pitcher who threw the pitch is now his teammate for the Mesa Solar Sox.  Check out the blog and bookmark it, as it should be a good read throughout the AFL season.

Mesa plays Surprise tomorrow night at 12:35 PM MST/3:35 PM EST.
