Andrew Lambo got his first day off, but the other three Pirates prospects started, with Aaron Pribanic making a relief appearance, as the Mesa Solar Sox lost 4-2 in extra innings:
-Josh Harrison (.111) started in left field, batting leadoff. Harrison went 0-for-3 with a sacrifice RBI in the sixth inning.
-Tony Sanchez (.313) started at catcher, batting eighth. Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a run scored, scoring on Harrison's sacrifice fly. Sanchez allowed two stolen bases, and caught one runner stealing.
-Jordy Mercer (.333) started at shortstop, batting seventh. Mercer went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, and committed his third error of the AFL season on a fielding error. Mercer also was part of a 6-3 double play.
