Arizona Fall League Recap: 10/23

Andrew Lambo and Josh Harrison both had big games at the plate tonight, leading the Mesa Solar Sox to a 7-2 victory:

-Andrew Lambo (.293) started in right field, batting fourth for the fifth straight game.  He went 2-for-3 with a two run home run (2) in the first, a walk, and three RBIs.  Lambo’s homer came off of Mike Montgomery, who is the top pitching prospect in the Kansas City Royals farm system, and one of the top 25 prospects in baseball.  Lambo also drew a walk against Montgomery.

-Josh Harrison (.222) started in left field, batting leadoff.  Harrison went 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and a stolen base.  Harrison’s first triple, and his single and steal, came against Montgomery.

-Jordy Mercer (.250) started at shortstop, batting fifth.  Mercer went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

-Brian Leach (0.00) pitched an inning in relief, allowing two runs, both unearned, on two hits, with no walks or strikeouts.  Leach threw 18 pitches, with 13 for strikes.

There are no AFL games tomorrow.  Mesa plays Phoenix on Monday at 12:35 PM MST/3:35 PM EST.
