John ~ NO odubt other players you mentioned are having great years, but the MVP award goes to the BIGGEST difference maker in a team’s success. THAT player clear is Andrew McCutchen.

It wasn’t to say that McCutchen should be MVP — it was to show how he has been a one-man band and to posit that he should garner significant votes. Not necessarily 1st place votes, but votes down the ballot.

He may garner votes, but no one is going to catch Joey Votto, he’s the best in the game.
Really, even Braun has been better this year. Its acutally hard to argue that Cutch is a top 3 OF in the NL with Kemp, CarGo, Beltran, and Braun plus Melky’s breakout.
