Four Pirates prospects played, as the Mesa Solar Sox tied 2-2:
-Tony Sanchez (.230) started as the designated hitter, batting fifth. Sanchez went 1-for-4.
-Jordy Mercer (.266) started at shortstop, batting sixth. Mercer went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run, plus a throwing error.
-Josh Harrison (.316) started at second base, batting leadoff. Harrison went 0-for-3, and was hit by a pitch.
-Brian Leach (0.00) pitched a shutout inning, allowing a walk and a hit, and striking out one. Leach threw 12 pitches, with six going for strikes.
Mesa plays Peo Javelinas tomorrow at 12:35 PM MST/2:35 PM EST....
