2011 Prospect Watching: Bishop, Gourley, And Mort

Kevin Mort  —  R/R,  5′ 11″,  173 lb
Mort was not taken in the 2010 draft, but signed with the Pirates as a free agent afterwards.  He reported to the GCL Pirates, where he hit .284, with 20 RBI, without too many strikeouts.  He played second base, shortstop, and third base, and was decent at all three positions.  He’s turning 23 years old this week, which is getting “old” for State College.  He could be assigned either there or possibly West Virginia as a back-up for 2011.
