Yeah, because he’s a whole one inch and fifteen pounds below Gene Alley’s playing height/weight, as a teenager. Obviously worthless.

I would say there is a good chance he does otherwise I doubt he would be considered a top prospect when they picked just 29 players from 41 total teams. One possibility is the amount of middle infielders in camp now is very high so he could be at the Dominican Academy getting regular playing time and we will see him once the GCL season starts. He may start the year in the DSL since their season starts a month earlier.

5’9″ 145 lb . Why waste the time and money.

The Pirates have gotten away from 5’8″ pitchers that throw 84 to 89 junk to 6’4″215 lb power throwers but they just LOVE undersized Latin players who can’t hit a ripe tomato with a 2 by 4. I want Cal Ripkin at SS not a f#### smurf!

Actually I’m glad you mentioned that. He was invited to the Instructional League which is ALMOST always a guarantee that the player will be in the GCL the next season, and the higher profile the player the more likely he will stay but I just saw the list and didn’t see him listed. That doesn’t mean he isnt there or won’t be in the states, those lists always have mistakes and omissions but as of right now he isn’t listed

I can’t find Carvajal on the minor league camp roster posted at BucsDugout. Can you confirm that he’s stateside now?
