Weekend Draft Prospects Preview 4/15-4/17

Rendon is still the number one draft prospect, according to Baseball America.

Here are some updates on Anthony Rendon and Gerrit Cole, the top two draft prospects for the Pittsburgh Pirates:

-Earlier this week I posted my interview with Rendon.  I also posted a video recap of his plate appearances when he wasn’t intentionally walked.

-Rendon moved to the leadoff spot this week.  Joseph Duarte has a video interview with Rendon, discussing the move, and talking about his shoulder injury.

-Baseball America released their mid-season top 50 rankings.  Rendon is still number one, while Cole is second.

-I recorded an interview with David Todd for the Extra Innings post game show on 104.7, discussing Rendon, Cole, and the 2011 draft.  The interview is scheduled to air on Saturday and again on Monday.

The schedule for Rendon and Cole this weekend:

FRIDAY

7:30 PM EST – Rice (Rendon) vs Tulane

9:00 PM EST – UCLA (Cole) vs Arizona

SATURDAY

3:00 PM EST – Rice (Rendon) vs Tulane
