Joe Beimel to the DL, Daniel Moskos Recalled

Moskos has been recalled to the majors.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed left handed reliever Joe Beimel on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation, and have recalled Daniel Moskos.  Moskos was recently optioned to AAA to make room for Evan Meek.  In five appearances in the majors this year he pitched 4.2 innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits, with three walks and a strikeout.  Moskos wasn’t used much his first time around, although that could be different with Beimel on the disabled list, since Moskos is now the only left hander in the bullpen.

  1. Looking forward to Moskos receiving some higher leverage pitching opportunities.
