Five Marauders Named to FSL All-Star Team

McPherson, who leads the organization in strikeouts, was named to the FSL All-Star game.

Jarek Cunningham, Aaron Baker, Ramon Cabrera, Kyle McPherson, and Brett Lorin were all named to the Florida State League All-Star team today, according to a Bradenton Marauders press release.

Cunningham is currently hitting for a .289/.337/.599 line, with an organizational best 11 homers in 187 at-bats.

Baker is hitting for a .270/.341/.443 line in 185 at-bats, with seven homers.  He struggled in the month of May, with a .220/.295/.390 line, although his overall numbers are still up due to a .341/.400/.524 line in April.

Cabrera has a .336/.403/.439 line in 107 at-bats this year.  He ranks third in batting average among Pirates’ minor leaguers with 100+ at-bats this year, behind only Matt Curry (.361) and Alex Presley (.338).  His .403 on-base percentage falls only behind Curry (.473) and Eric Fryer (.410).

McPherson has a 2.93 ERA in 11 starts, with a 55:6 K/BB ratio in 67.2 innings.  He leads the minor league system in strikeouts, and is tied with Aaron Pribanic among pitchers with 25+ innings with his amazing 0.8 BB/9 ratio.

Lorin has a 3.25 ERA in 44.1 innings, making 11 appearances and six starts.  He has a 45:8 K/BB ratio in those innings, with his 9.1 K/9 ratio being the best in the system out of any player that has made more than one start.
