Rodriguez has been re-acquired by the Pirates.
The Pittsburgh Pirates have re-acquired shortstop Josh Rodriguez from the Cleveland Indians, in exchange for cash considerations. Rodriguez was drafted in the 2010 Rule 5 draft by the Pirates, and was designated for assignment back in April after going 1-for-12 at the plate. Part of the reason he was designated for assignment was that the Pirates claimed Brandon Wood off of waivers. Rodriguez went on to hit for a .193/.270/.316 line for Cleveland’s AAA affiliate. He will be assigned to Indianapolis.

I hope that is a move that allows us to move up D’Arnaud and release Ciriaco.

This transaction is a head scratcher. If D’Arnaud is being called up to the bigs, shouldn’t Jordy Mercer be promoted to Indy to take his place? Unless the Bucs are planning to deal D’Arnaud….for Jose Reyes

He’s hitting .196 and we acquired him? Oh yeah, he hit for a higher average than Ciriaco in AAA. All’s well. Still no need to beef up the big team.
