The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed 27th round pick Ryan Hornback. Hornback, a catcher, hit for a .310 average with San Jacinto College North in 2011. He had a commitment to Mississippi, but obviously decided to go pro. His signing won't be an over-slot deal, since the team officially announced it today.
