If we had a competent Pedro Alvarez at 3rd, Wood would be a very nice bench player because he can play all 4 infield positions, is a good fielder, and definitely has some (albeit inconsistent) pop in his bat. That’s why he’s on the team, and probably will be all season.

I think d’Arnaud goes back to AAA if Pedro is brought back. Otherwise, he’ll split ab’s with Wood at 3rd.

I think Leroux will be the odd man out even though I’m not sure Grilli is an upgrade over him. I think Leroux has looked good in the limited time he’s been used. I doubt it will be Watson, as it doesn’t make sense to me to leave Biemel as the only LH in the pen.

The more intersting move will be if/when Alvarez comes back. Who’s the odd man out then? DFA Overbay? DFA Wood? send d’Arnaud back to AAA? Do they get rid of an OF instead, DFA Diaz? DFA Paul?
