Karstens, Ohlendorf, Metcucthin and Jose Tabata were all Yankees. Nady was hitting well before he got hurt. Now Marte also got hurt but came back in 2009 to be a key reason why the yanks beat Philly in the world series. He essentially neutralized Ryan Howard. Karstens showed promise when he pitched for the yankees. As a life long yankees fan my closest friends also know i follow the Pirates for one reason. They were the childhood team of my hero Roberto Clemente. I wish Tabata hits 50 homers and Karstens wins 20 games.

Totally wrong. It would be like giving someone else $100 to invest, and THEY turn it into $1000. You didn't really do much there, did ya?

so I guess andy laroche is better the bautista, its not hindsight its scouting. and also I said full credit and that is because you have to Account for inherited assets when judging trades. debits and credits are how accounting works , not just looking at players numbers.

I think it's obvious that Bautista is not a good 3B. Good reason why he switched positions. Also, his numbers in 2008 were nowhere near what he's doing now. To say they needed to find room for him is hindsight. He wasn't putting up the numbers you'd want from a starter. In fact, Bautista's numbers were worse than the numbers Garrett Jones is putting up now for the Pirates.

And really? He doesn't get credit for the trades because the players were added by Littlefield? So who gets credit? Because Littlefield got those guys by trading guys that Bonifay acquired. As Ryan mentioned below, you give credit to what the GM did with the trade chips.

@ponhaas:disqus So, let me get this straight, with a similar situation. If someone gives me $100 dollars to invest, and I invest in a company that returns one hundred times that amount when I sell, I don't get full credit for that investment because someone else gave me the money?

I'm not sure what drugs you are taking, but next time make sure to lace them with 'logic powder'

um the bay trade was made worse when the powers that be judge laroche to be a better player than bautista and also not believing bautista could play another position. another thing about trades is huntington was trading littlefield assets for players so you really can't give him full credit for any of these types of trades, also no one will ever know if he turned down better trades . So really d'arnaud and pedro and his waiver wire pickups are the only players huntington can get full 100% credit for obtaining. ps sticking with russell and kerriagan for as long as he did was also
