Wrong, he needs to keep playing and learn pitch recognition or rest will do him no good. He needs to play in order to keep his weight down as well. He consistently comes to camp out of shape and not ready to go.

I’ve thought the same things about him. He has looked like he has forced everything this year. I think he is to a point where he is thinking way to much about everything and not playing. He needs to get away for awhile. When he comes back he should go on a regiment where all he sees is breaking pitches from different pitchers different armslots etc…Know what’s coming where at and just learn to recognize them. He can hit a fast ball.

in my opinion pedro needs to take some time off, get rested and clear his mind… its not always more work that fixes the problem sometimes over thinking and over training IS the problem… its been a long season for alvarez send him home to his wife and get back at it in the winter trainings
