Jose Tabata Likely to Return Monday

According to Rob Biertempfel, the Pittsburgh Pirates are likely to recall Jose Tabata on Monday for the start of the series against the Cardinals.  The addition of Tabata would really help the team, both at the top of the lineup, and in the outfield, where they’ve seen Garrett Jones and Xavier Paul getting a lot of playing time.  Alex Presley could also be on his way back soon, as he just had his rehab work moved to Indianapolis.  An outfield with Tabata and Presley would really provide a boost for the current outfield.

  2. Pearce has an option left, so I would expect him to be sent down for Tabata. The one being sent down for Presley will be a tougher choice. I think the choice comes down to who they want to be here next year. It could be Lee going on the DL if he hasn’t played yet.
