They will finish that game then play a 7 inning game following it. Update: Nelson Figueroa has been named the starter for Indianapolis today

AAA: Indianapolis (68-64) VS Columbus (81-51) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Nelson Figueroa (NR)

Indianapolis has been eliminated from their division race. They have just 12 games left in their season and they are 6 games back in the wildcard race. Aaron Thompson was scheduled to start today but he has been recalled by the Pirates.

AA: Altoona (58-71) VS Richmond (69-60) 7:00pm
Probable starter: Phillip Irwin (6-4 4.61)

Irwin will start for the 12th time with Altoona and 22nd time overall. He allowed 5 earned runs in 6 innings in his last start. On the year he has pitched 121.2 innings giving up 18 walks while striking out 92. He has a 5.45 ERA in 7 starts since the all-star break. With Altoona he has a 2.83 ERA at home and a 7.33 mark on the road.

High-A: Bradenton (64-60 overall 34-20 2nd half) VS Palm Beach (62-63 overall 33-23 2nd half) 5:00pm
Probable starter: Nate Baker (9-7 3.60)

Baker will make his 23rd start of the season tonight. He is the team leader in wins, innings pitched with 132.1 and he is 2nd to Brett Lorin in strikeouts with 93. Nate threw 7 innings in his last start allowing just one unearned run. He gave up 6 hits, walked none and struck out seven. Since the all-star break he has a 6-3 2.93 record in 11 starts and one relief appearance. He has allowed 6 home runs this season, all of them at home.

Low-A: West Virginia (61-65 overall 25-32 2nd half) @ Greensboro (68-59 overall 28-29 2nd half) 7:00pm
Probable starter: Eliecer Navarro (3-0 2.70)

Navarro has made 5 starts with WV this year posting a 2-0 3.24 record in that role. Between his stop at Bradenton and his time with the Power he has pitched 72.1 innings recording 71 strikeouts while allowing just 17 walks. Navarro has won his last two starts

Short Season A: State College (24-39) VS Jamestown (31-32) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Matt Benedict (2-3 4.47)

Benedict will make his 13th start of the year tonight. He is 2nd on the Spikes with 56.1 innings pitched and with 34 strikeouts. The Spikes are in last place in their division and have been eliminated from the playoffs already. They have the 2nd worst record in the 14 team NYPL.

Rookie: GCL Pirates (31-25) VS GCL Phillies (24-30) 12:00pm

The GCL Pirates are currently in 2nd place, 5 games back in the standings.

VSL: VSL Pirates (40-32)

The VSL Pirates have finished their season. They won the VSL pennant for a sixth straight year.

DSL: DSL Pirates (41-28)

The DSL Pirates finished tied for 2nd in their division, 5.5 games back.

John started working at Pirates Prospects in 2009, but his connection to the Pittsburgh Pirates started exactly 100 years earlier when Dots Miller debuted for the 1909 World Series champions. John was born in Kearny, NJ, two blocks from the house where Dots Miller grew up. From that hometown hero connection came a love of Pirates history, as well as the sport of baseball. When he didn't make it as a lefty pitcher with an 80+ MPH fastball and a slider that needed work, John turned to covering the game, eventually focusing in on the prospects side, where his interest was pushed by the big league team being below .500 for so long. John has covered the minors in some form since the 2002 season, and leads the draft and international coverage on Pirates Prospects.
