The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled left handed pitcher Tony Watson, which is their corresponding move to placing Paul Maholm on the 15-day disabled list yesterday. Watson was optioned to AAA on August 6th, but prior to that had a 2.73 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP in 26.1 innings in the majors.

completely bizarre why Watson was sent down.
