Rodarrick Jones Promoted to State College

2011 37th round pick Rodarrick Jones has been promoted by the Pittsburgh Pirates from the GCL to State College.  Jones, a 20 year old outfielder, hit for a .500/.625/1.167 line in four games in the GCL.  He came from the college ranks, although he didn’t get much playing time, missing the entire 2011 season.  Still, the New York Penn League is a much better assignment for him than the Gulf Coast League was, even if he only played four games at the previous level.
