State College Spikes Roster Moves 9/1

The State College Spikes have made a few roster moves today: -Samuel Gonzalez has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to August 30th.  Gonzalez is currently out with a shoulder strain. -Mike Jefferson has been transferred to the GCL Pirates.  The move is a paper move.  Jefferson threw five shutout innings last night, and isn’t scheduled to start the rest of the year. -Gregory Polanco and Diomedes Mateo have been added...

Pirates Recall Jaramillo, Call Up Brian Burres

The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled catcher Jason Jaramillo, and have purchased the contract of left handed pitcher Brian Burres, according to a team press release.  Burres is expected to start for the Pirates on Friday against the Chicago Cubs.  There was an open spot on the 40-man roster, and Burres will fill that spot.
