The smoke has been doused and the mirrors put away. The injuries and standpat wait for the reinforcements to heal approach has been, as expected, a dismal failure.

Has anyone ever seen so many batters regress as the Pirates have had this season? Start with ‘dro (who now can’t hit AAA pitching) and work your way through the lineup.

Maybe there will be a moral victory if 4th place is still the sole possession of the PBC after this weekend.

They are currently only 3 games better than the Cubs and Mariners who are tied for that honor. That would just be an insane collapse.
