So if his need to make money was the driving factor in all this, then he would actually want to spend a little more and ensure the team stays competetive.

The Front Office doesn’t have a clue and the owner couldn’t care less about winning. Profit is what Nutting is all about. Just give them washed up rock bands, fireworks, bobbleheads and other gadget give-aways, and the fans still come flocking to PNC.

19 years of losing baseball with no… absolutely NO ending in sight.

you probably can do alot of damage if those hitters were actually hitting the ball.  if youre top of the lineup is Tabata, Presley and Cutch, they can create alot of damage for opposing pitchers.
So if Tabata stays healthy, Presley proves he belongs, and Cutch gets off his power obsession, all 3 players have a chance to be near 100 runs scored as long as there are a couple of decent bats behind them.

this is my opinion anyway.

Boy, that sounds like a great idea.

Walker had a huge overall improvement and my bet would be that he can have a more balanced offseason focus allowing his bat and glove to improve in 2012…

On the other hand, Walker hit more doubles (including 13 in the month of September alone) and exhibited a slight improvement in BB% and SO%

I find it hard to believe that if you offered a FA considerably more $$ than the next team that they wouldn’t sign and I am tired of them signing worthless Type C free agents.  If you spend the $$ they will come, once we start winning games again they will want to come w/o the extra $$.

He played adequate defense, and put up top 10 offensive numbers at the position…  Maybe it’s disappointing compared to potential, but not reality.
