AFL Recap 10/15: Grossman Homers

The Mesa Solar Sox beat the Surprise Saguaros 14-3 today.  Robbie Grossman, playing right field and batting leadoff, went 2-for-5 with a walk and a solo home run.  The home run, which came leading off the game, was Grossman’s third of the AFL season in 48 at-bats.  Grossman now has a .354 average and a 1.030 OPS in the short AFL season. World Cup Ends With Rain Out For Team USA

Rain and poor field conditions forced the International Baseball Federation to cancel the World Cup Tournament’s Bronze Medal game this afternoon in Panama.  Team USA and Team Canada were tied with 4-3 records after Round Two.  The Federation declared both teams tied for third place in the final standings, though they have yet to decide what to do about actually awarding bronze medals.  Canada had a 6-1 record in Round One,...
