The Mesa Solar Sox won 3-2 today against the Scottsdale Scorpions. Robbie Grossman was the only Pirates prospect to play this afternoon, going 1-for-4 out of the leadoff position. Grossman, who is hitting for a .323 average, now has a hit in six of seven games he has played in. Aside from his average, he has a strong .912 OPS, thanks to a double and two homers. He’s also started every game in the week old season.
Mesa plays tomorrow at 3:35 PM EST against Peoria.
