Arizona Fall League Recap: 10/12

The Mesa Solar Sox lost 6-2 to Peoria today.  Robbie Grossman started as the designated hitter, batting leadoff.  It was the first game that he didn’t play in the field in the eight game AFL season. Grossman went 0-for-4, which was his second game without a hit.  Jarek Cunningham started at second base, and went 0-for-2 with two walks.  Cunningham is 2-for-19 on the season, but has a 4:4 K/BB ratio, which is encouraging.  Cunningham struck out 26.5% of the time in 2011, and walked 4.9% of the time.

Mesa plays Peoria again tomorrow, going up against Danny Hultzen.
