For the second time in as many games, Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Robbie Grossman homered, going 3-for-5 in the second game of the season. His solo homer was in his first at-bat of the game, and according to Keith Law, it was a loud shot that came opposite field on a 94 MPH fastball. Grossman is 5-for-9 with two homers in his first two games in the AFL.
Jarek Cunningham also got the start today, playing second base for the second game in a row. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, and is 0-for-8 with three strikeouts on the young season.

Grossman has done most of his damage batting lefthanded. That’s an excellent sign.
