Winter Leagues 10/27 — (Everyone Is Watching Game 6)

Just a little bit of winter league action for Pirates’ players and friends today… the Dominican League had a scheduled day off.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Caribes de Anzoategui  3,  Bravos de Margarita  1

Not a lot of offense in this game — just 2 hits for Los Bravos and 6 hits for Los Caribes.  Los Bravos scored their only run in the top of the 5th, on a walk and three errors by Los Caribes.  The first two runs for Los Caribes came on a 2-run homer in the 4th inning.  They scored again in the bottom of the 5th with three singles.  Gorkys Hernandez entered the game in the top of the 8th as a defensive replacement in left field.  He had a plate appearance in the bottom of that inning and was hit by a pitch.

MEXICAN PACIFIC LEAGUE

Yaquis de Obregon  7,  Venados de Mazatlan  1

Rogelio Noris is back with Los Venados after representing Mexico in the Pan Am games.  He came into this gave to pinch hit in the 7th inning, when he popped out, then remained in the game to play right field.  Los Venados scored one run in the bottom of the 1st on two singles.  Obregon scored 4 runs in the 7th and 3 more in the 8th, for an easy win.  Former Indy Indian SS Alfredo Amezaga went 0-for-5 for Obregon.
