AFL Recap 11/4: Grossman Homers

The Mesa Solar Sox won 12-10 against Salt River today.  Robbie Grossman was the only Pittsburgh Pirates prospect to play this afternoon.  He went 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base, and hit his 7th homer of the season.  Grossman now has a .370/.471/.630 line in exactly 100 at-bats during the AFL season.  Mesa has ten games left in the regular season.

The Solar Sox are off tomorrow, although Grossman and Gerrit Cole will play in the AFL Rising Stars game tomorrow night on the MLB Network.

  1. Pirates not trading for Jair Jurrjens and Martin Prado is sickening. Alvarez needs pushed at 3b, prado is the guy to do it plus hes a super utility infielder. Plus Jurrjens would give them a Ace until the youngsters are ready. – Presley or Tabata, Rudy Owens and ptbnl should get those 2 . Atlanta is dumping basically salary.
