The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially announced the signing of Clint Barmes, and have designated catcher Brian Jeroloman for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster. You can read my recap of the Barmes deal here. The Pirates claimed Jeroloman on Friday off of waivers from Toronto. If he clears waivers they can outright him to AAA.
UPDATE 2:58 PM: No official word yet on Barmes' salary, other than the rumored $10.5 M for two years. The 40-man roster/payroll page has been updated, using the unofficial $5.25 M salary. The Future Payroll page has also been updated with the above moves....
