Pirates Sign Six Minor League Free Agents

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed six minor league free agents, according to Baseball America.  Returning to the organization are catchers Milver Reyes and Wyatt Toregas.  Reyes was a coach last year, and will likely return to the same role.  Toregas will probably fill the role once again as AAA depth and an emergency catcher if the Pirates happen to need a dozen catchers again this year.

The new additions to the organization are 2B Keoni De Renne, 3B Vince Harrison, OF Jason Cooper, and OF Michael Ryan.  De Renne and Ryan are both north of 30 and neither played in 2011.  Harrison and Cooper are also north of 30, and both played independent ball in 2011.  Vince is Josh Harrison's older brother.

My guess is that these guys were added as coaches, with the possible exception of Toregas...
