Winter Leagues 11/8– RBI Single For Hague

Pirates' players and friends in Tuesday's winter league action:

PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE

Indios de Mayaguez  2,  Criollos de Caguas  1

A walk and two singles gave Mayaguez their first run in the 3rd inning.  Both teams scored in the 5th -- Los Indios on a single, a bunt, and a double, then a solo homer by Los Criollos.  3B Jeremy Farrell went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts.

 

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Leones del Escogido  6,  Toros del Este  2

Six runs in the bottom of the 4th gave this game to Los Leones.  That inning included a 3-run homer and a triple.  Los Toros scored one run in the top of the 6th, when a batter reached on a fielding error, moved to second on a passed ball and to third with a ground out.  Matt Hague's RBI single drove in the run.  Three singles in the 7th gave ...
