Earlier today we heard that the Pirates reached an agreement with Nate McLouth. The move was just made official, per a team press release. To clear space for McLouth on the 40-man roster, the Pirates have designated infielder Pedro Ciriaco for assignment. The Pirates have ten days to waive, trade, or release Ciriaco. If he clears waivers, they can outright him to AAA.
McLouth will make $1.75 M on a one year deal.
