Winter Leagues 12/5 — Just One Game

Just one winter league game on the schedule for today, in the Venezuelan League:

Leones del Caracas  13,  Caribes de Anzoategui  3

CF Gorkys Hernandez went 0-for-3 for Los Caribes, though he did contribute an outfield assist, gunning down a Caracas runner at third base.  Los Caribes got the scoring started with a 2-run homer in the top of the 2nd inning.  Los Leones tied the score in the bottom of the inning with two walks, a single, and a sacrifice fly.  Los Leones added 3 runs in the 4th and a solo home run in the 5th.  Then they more than doubled their total with 7 runs in the bottom of the 8th.  Two doubles, three singles, and two walks by Los Leones were aided by two of the four errors committed by Los Caribes in that inning.  The inning ended when pinch-hitter Ramon Cabrera grounded out back to the mound.  Cabrera remained in the game as the catcher for the top of the 9th.  Los Caribes scored one more run in the top of the 9th, on three singles and a passed ball by Cabrera.
