I wonder if the Pirates are waiting on Lee to make a decission. If he decides not to play for us that would free up a lot of money for a pitcher.

I like Clint Barmes, believe he is a quality player and thought he would have done really well with the Rockies, but Tulowitski came on board, thus causing Clint to have to play 2nd, which was not his favorite position, although he did really well at 2nd… Clint is without a doubt a quality player, and hopefully does really well with the Pirates… Go Bucs!!! Oh yes, Clint is a quality individual (person)…

Wheeler made $3MM last yr. Unless his price has dropped a lot or Meek is on shaky ground, I don’t see this signing happening. Four straight yrs of pitching in the AL East speaks well for him as he did okay there.

Jackson is said to be asking for $14-$15MM/yr. If that’s true, I think Francis or Harden would be okay choices. Harden is appealing to me if you have have enough material to keep him in one piece for a season. Perhaps use him as a spot starter to keep the wear and tear down on him.

Would not mind Paul coming back on a one or two year deal. Then, if he pitches like he did last season flip him at the deadline. I dont feel comfortable starting the year with what we currently have going for us. Would rather try for Jackson, Francis, or even Harden though.
